Waiting for Life to Start

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. LIFE, it seems such a common word, something easily taken for granted. And yet, all the time it is passing us by, happening all arround us. Most of my life I have found this above quote to be quite poignant, especially in light of my history with the witnesses. But while I was waiting, the life I longed for was passing me by. It was right there for the taking the entire time.

Now when I read this phrase it has a new meaning, it conveys a sense of accomplishment, a monumental recognition that must never be squandered.
